La Plagne 2017

Dan and I went out to La Plagne this year, and we had a BLAST! Having said that, we went to ride, with our good friend Nuts, and didn’t miss a minute…

I didn’t shoot much for that reason. the camera came out the one day, and only that.. 🙁

Priority was my skiing…

Freeride in La plagne with Nuts, 2014

I once again got to go and free ride with my good friend Nuts, in La Plagne. He is clearly one of the best  off piste instructor, great knowledge of the resort, and a top guy.

I took the camera out for a day, to snap the people who were out with us, clients of Nuts, some of which are friends.

Great day… I miss it already…

A weekend away in Les Menuires for a family gathering… with the snow…

What an amazing weekend!!! I have literally arrived back in Jersey from a fabulous weekend with 70 family members and friends of Manu and Roxanne, cousins of mine, in Les Menuires.

Involved a lot of food, drinking, laughs, little sleep, and so much fun.

The camera came out for half a day on the slopes, in AMAZING conditions considering the time of year, and here are a few snaps…

A Ski trip with friends…

This year, possibly the only ski trip that I will be able to do, 11 friends and a baby went on a ski holiday in Les Menuires for a week.

My intention was to bring my camera and do as much photography as possible. Unfortunately, good times got in the way, and I only managed a few pics of friends on a few occasion, under poor light…

I have promised Becky to say that the B&W shot of her was a test shot to get my lights right, before a family pic, with a baby, was taken… Yet I really like it despite her opinion of it…

La Plagne with my friends

Skiing is really important to me. It has to be my favourite sport.

I am lucky that my friends are all into it, and more importantly, my wife also loves it.
So every year, we make sure to get to the mountains, and enjoy the snow as much as possible.

For me La Plagne is special as I have made, over time, many friends over there..

So when I had to decide of a destination for my stag do, and since most of my male friends are mostly into it, it was an easy call…

Obviously the stag do was not about photography, but I did take the camera out for a day on the slopes…

I particularly like this shot, for it’s sense of speed..

Halfpipe world cup photo shoot

I have mentioned in my blog somewhere that La Plagne is a special place for me as I have made many friends over time in this French ski resort.

One of these friends is in charge of the ski park, halfpipe of this resort, and this year was hosting the ski halfpipe world cup.

I mentioned my interest, and was able to get as close as possible to these athletes, within the press area, and had an opportunity of a life time.

3 days in all sorts of conditions, snow, sun, day and night.
I must admit that I felt a little intimidated at time with the pros around me, but I am happy with what I got…

Becky in snow

A ski holiday with friends, all was perfect until mid week when I slipped on black ice on the road…
I was unable to ski for the rest of the week.

Becky looked after me, and since I had brought along my lights etc, we thought it would be fun to do a photo session, as we do…
Turned out that most people joined in, and we all had a fab time, whilst being able to give nice pics to all…
